Sheridan, Student Services Supervisor at Marion City Schools, brings personal and professional experience advocating for those in our community with developmental disabilities. She earned a Masters of Education Leadership from the University of Cincinnati, a Transition Work Endorsement from Wright State University, and her Bachelors of Science in Special Education also from the University of Cincinnati.
“In my role at Marion City Schools, I have seen the way the schools and the County Board can support a school-age child. I hope to strengthen those partnerships and be a liaison between the schools and the County Board of DD.” Sheridan said of her new appointment. “Together, we serve our county’s most vulnerable population and help them thrive within our community.”
She also has a unique perspective to lend to the County Board of DD being a younger sibling to a sister who has been served by MCBDD throughout her life.
Sheridan was born and raised in Marion, Ohio, and is happy to be raising her family in her hometown. When she and her husband, Alex, are not working hard to make Marion a better place to live, learn, and be employed, they are enjoying time with family. They have a toddler named Eli, who brings great joy to their entire family.
“I was thrilled when Jennifer agreed to serve on the board for MCBDD. Her background in education, as well as her personal experience, will serve us well as we continue to move forward and partner with the schools in Marion County,” Cheryl Plaster, superintendent of the Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities, said of Sheridan’s appointment.
